16 Avive Connect AED®s Deployed Across Lower Salford Township, PA’s Police Fleet and Public Access Points

Lower Salford Township expands lifesaving access from patrol cars to community gathering places with the Avive Connect AED® .

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – [November 2, 2026] – Lower Salford Township in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, in partnership with Avive Solutions Inc, has deployed 16 Avive Connect AED® devices across its police vehicles, municipal facilities, and public parks - putting lifesaving equipment within reach of both first responders and everyday community members.

Lower Salford Township, which serves about 16,000 residents across 14.5 square miles, replaced its aging AED fleet after the older units became costly to maintain and difficult to track. Six of the new AEDs ride in patrol cars at all times so officers, who are often first on the scene of a cardiac emergency, are equipped on every shift. Others are placed in the Township Building (two units), the Public Works Department (one), and the Township-owned golf course (one).

Six more units are installed in climate-controlled, publicly accessible cabinets at high-traffic Township locations: Heckler Plains Farmstead, Charles Reed Park, Dan Roth Park, Jacob Reiff Park, the Community Center, and Alderfer Park. The devices are designed for use by anyone, with clear voice prompts guiding rescuers through each step.

Built for readiness and simplicity

Lower Salford Township's police department began looking for a new solution after a busy first quarter of 2026. Replacing pads on its previous vendor's units cost nearly $1,000 in that quarter alone, and aging batteries were beginning to fail.

"The fact that the Avive AEDs have GPS located within them really shined the light on this item," said Cory Moyer, Chief of Police, Lower Salford Township. "Then when we learned that they are rechargeable, that was another tipping point for us to say, hey, let's take a closer look at Avive and see if we can make this work."

The Avive Connect AED® addresses the Township's challenges with several features:

  • Live dashboard and built-in GPS: Through the REALConnect™ platform, staff can see each AED's location, battery strength, cellular or Wi-Fi connection status, and pad activity without physically inspecting each unit.
  • One pad for adults and children: A single pad set covers all patients, with a button on the device to switch modes, eliminating the need to buy and stock separate pads.
  • Rechargeable battery and pad replenishment: Rechargeable batteries end the cycle of replacing failing ones, and with an active REALConnect™ subscription, Avive replenishes pads after a deployment so a high-use quarter does not become a budget problem.
  • Fully automatic operation: The unit advises that a shock is needed, announces it, and delivers it, removing one step for the rescuer in a high-stress emergency.

Lower Salford Township produced a public training video, led by Lower Salford Police Officer Michael Parnes, to help residents feel confident using the devices before an emergency occurs. Avive and Lower Salford extend their thanks to the Harleysville Lions Club, Harleysville Jaycees, and Rotary Club of Harleysville - whose contributions helped make the investment and deployment possible.
